Free WebServices currently available in SoDa

A problem of units?

Consult the Education service.

The SoDa Service contains several services (or resources) and its content is evolving as additional resources (databases, algorithms, end-user applications) are populating the SoDa Service. The services are organised in categories of services or domains (e.g., air quality, or solar energy systems). Click on a domain in the list below to discover the available services.
You may use the button "Search" on top right to find a service, e.g., "temperature" or "clear sky".
Click here to know how to become a service provider in the SoDa Service.

Climate Climatic averages over 15 and 30 years Climatic normals (or typical values): radiation, temperature, UV
Monthly Averages of Air Temperature. Monthly averages (approx. 30 years) of air temperature resulting from interpolation of measurements made in meteorological networks. Provider: Meteotest, Switzerland. More information
Database of Climatic Data in Solar Radiation, Air Temperature and Relative Humidity. Monthly and yearly averages of solar radiation, air temperature (daily minimum, maximum and mean) and relative humidity (daily minimum, maximum and mean) averaged over the period 1990-2004 (15 years). Provider: MINES ParisTech / Armines, France. More information
Normal Year - Global Radiation and Air Temperature. Synthesized time-series (hourly, daily, monthly) of global radiation on horizontal or inclined planes and air temperature for normal years. Provider: Meteotest, Switzerland. More information
Typical Values for UV - World. Global and diffuse horizontal irradiance (irradiation) for UV-A, UV-B, erythemal. Worldwide. Typical values based on climatological data. Provider: Meteotest, Switzerland. More information

Climate Frequency of types of sky Linke turbidity factor
Frequency of Types of Sky in Europe. This service provides monthly frequencies of three different sky types: sunny, intermediate and cloudy, for a period covering 1996 to 2000, for any site located in Western and Central Europe (source: Satel-Light). Provider: Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat, France. More information

Linke turbidity factor and maps: there is no restriction of use as long as you mention that you obtained the information from the SoDa Service, and that it is the result of the research published in:

Worldwide Linke turbidity information Remund J., Wald L., Lefèvre M., Ranchin T., Page J. Proceedings of ISES Solar World Congress 2003 - ISES Solar World Congress 2003, Göteborg : Sweden (2003). Full paper can be downloaded at http://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/hal-00465791/en
Monthly Values of Linke Turbidity Factor (on a single geographical location). The Linke turbidity factor characterizes the optical turbidity of the atmosphere. Provider: Meteotest, Switzerland. More information
Monthly World Maps of Linke Turbidity Factor. Divide the values of the map by a factor 20 in order to get the correct Linke turbidity factor. More information

Energy - Daylighting Optimal panel orientation Daylighting
Slope leading to maximum total irradiation. For any site in Europe, this service provides the slope of an inclined surface receiving the maximum of radiation. No mask taken into account. Provider: Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat, France. More information
Potential of Daylight in a Room. SODALIGHT, a service to evaluate the potential of daylight in a room that you design yourself. Provider: Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat, France. More information

Geography Coordinate of a city
Find the geographical coordinates of any city. This service exploits the geographical gazetteer, i.e., a set of names of cities worldwide with their geographical coordinates. This is a revised version of the database of the USA National Geo-intelligence Agency, available at GeoNet Names Server. Provider : MINES ParisTech / Armines (France).
