Description of the SoDa Commercial Offers

Exemple : HCmonth provides global monthly radiation values on a horizontal surface. Available solar databases: HC-1 and HC-3.
The name of the products for pay are composed of HC, followed by the temporal step and the plane orientation (horizontal if not specified). HC and designates the HelioClim solar databases for which the product is avalaible: HelioClim-1 (HC-1) and -3 (HC-3). More information on the bases and their uncertainties.

Test the free version of these products: every product for registered users has a free counterpart temporally limited to 2005 for HC-3. This allows any user to test services before registration and to check their relevance to the needs.

Format: maps are delivered in GeoTiff format.

Map Content: radiation data can be either on the horizontal plane or on a plane normal to sun rays. Irradiation or irradiance maps can be ordered. From now on, you have the possibility to complete your order with a map which sums for each pixels the number of hours the irradiance is above a given threshold (ex: histogram threshold to the value 700 W/m²). This maps turns out to be essential for the sitting of thermal or solar plants.

Database and period: HC-1 and HC-3. If you are interested by the last 6 years, only HC-3 is exploited (spatial resolution: 5 km). This database is available since February 1st 2004 until the day before today, except if you purchase to Eumetsat a particular fee for real time data access. For older data, HC-1 (approximately 20 km) should also be exploited in conjunction with HC-3, which implies HC-1 to be fitted on HC-3.

Price and availability: it is a function of the on-shore area as well as the duration of the period of the requested data. The maps are on request only. To receive a quotation, contact the sales support. Do not forget to precise:
- the temporal period,
- the coordinates of the north-east and south-west geographical points of the map,
- and the type of data you need (irradiation / irradiance, units... ).
