Solar in Belgium: more active.
Installateur: uses generally PVGIS in PVsyst to get a theoretical monthly electrical production.
Only considers residential installations < 100 kW.
In the past, when the satellite data did not exist and for larger projects, they settled pyranometers [500-3000 euro/pyr]. Used approx 1000 euro.
They are confident that the pyranometers remain the most reliable tool to estimate the radiation on the sites, since they are the same than for BSRN.
